I’ve been asked many times why I draw. I have been drawing since I was very young. I have been drawing all my life and I have a marked professional deformity where the hand of the architect is always present when I draw.

Drawing has become a refuge for me from which I break free from the fast pace of life, lighten the weight of everything I have experienced, and find myself again.

I love urban drawing, sketching, but I have also always loved drawing plants and flowers. Nature accompanies us in the annual cycle of the seasons. Its beauty is rich, changing and varied, and runs a full range ranging from the imposing and majestic beauty of a large natural space to the subtle and humble beauty of some tiny plants and flowers. It is an ephemeral beauty that reminds us that it is always there, but also that everything happens. And while drawing nature, I savor the moment and the beauty.

The plants I paint for the book: Phyllodoce caerulea, Anthericum ramosum, Polygonum romanum, Prangos trifida and Erica vagans .
